HIPHOP DANCE COMPETITION
- One group representative each district. Including FUEL, in the Archdiocese of Cebu.
- Dance group is limited to a maximum of 10 members only and a minimum of 5. Members of the group should consist of both boys and girls.
- The groups will perform one hip-hop dance with music of their choice. After this performance they will perform another dance with a music provided by the organizers. This music will be the official contest piece. Thus, performances from this music are the main focus of the judges.
- The time limit of the dance piece is 4 minutes.
- Props and break dancing is allowed.
- Costume is mandatory.
- Please submit the name of the dance group and their choreographer before March 5, 2009.

CHESS
- All players must be male.
- Each district should have two players.
- The players will be divided into two: BOARD 1 & BOARD 2.
- The second placer of BOARD 1 will compete with the second placer of BOARD 2 for the third place.
- The first placer of BOARD 1 will compete with the first placer of BOARD 2. The winner will be declared as the over-all champion, while the loser will be on the second place.
- The basic rules of chess particularly the "touch move rule" will be strictly implemented.
- Chess clock will be used.

SCRABBLE
- All players will be female.
- Each player is given an allotted time of 30 seconds to place the tiles and to complete the word/s on the board.
- If the player could not complete the word on he board within thirty seconds, the next player will make the next move.
- The second placer of BOARD 1 will compete with the second placer of BOARD 2 for the third place.
- The group will be divided into four: BOARD 1, 2, 3, & 4.
- The player who has the highest points of each board will compete for the championship.
- The player who has the highest points of the championship game will be declared as the over-all champion.
- The second and the third places will depend on their points from the championship game.
- In case of a tie, the total points of game 1 and 2 will be added.

ESSAY WRITING CONTEST
Entries will be judged anonymously by a panel of judges selected and approved by the Commission on Youth.

- The essay writing contest is open to all districts. Each district should send one (1) contestant for the English category, and one (1) contestant for the Cebuano category.
- Each contestant will be given six (6) papers for their drafts, and three (3) intermediate papers for the final copy.
- All entries must be written in script form (pinakatay), double-spaced, with 1/2 inch margins, top and bottom, left and right.
- The winners will then be announced during the Vigil with the Cardinal and will be awarded accordingly.
- The Commission on Youth reserves the right not to award a prize or any prizes where do not meet contest standards or criteria.

ON THE SPOT POSTER MAKING CONTEST
- 2 representatives per district.
- 1 painting per representative.
- Bring your own drawing/painting materials and utensils. The organizers will only provide an illustration board for your art. You may bring any drawing/painting materials except oil paint.
- The Commission on Youth will be giving a theme on which you will base your drawing/painting. It will be given on the competition day.
- Each will be given a time limit of 1 hour to do their drawing/painting. When the time expires, everyone must submit their works to the organizing committee, finished or unfinished.

CHORAL COMPETITION
- Participation in the competition is open to all eight (8) districts, including FUEL, in the Archdiocese of Cebu. One (1) youth group per district consisting of a Mixed Choir.
- Choir membership is limited to a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 24 members.
- Songs (2 contest pieces) are sung without accompaniment (a capella).
- Although a conductor is often necessary, a group may perform without one.
- Song requirements: Two required official contest pieces. These will be supplied by the 25th LWYD Organizers, at the COY office, Patria de Cebu Bldg. The songs shall not in any manner be rearranged. One contest piece serves as a warm-up song in English and the other is the main contest piece in Latin (Ave Verum).
- Choreography and unnecessary stage movements are not allowed.
- All songs shall be memorized.
- A uniform or costume, even the simplest kind, is mandatory for each group.

- List of group members.
- Names of trainer(s) and conductor.
- Place where practices are held.
- The choral contest will take place on the night of March 27, 2010 (within the 'Vigil with the Cardinal').

QUIZ BOWL
General Guidelines:
- Each District must have one (1) team and shall be composed of two (2) youth members and shall choose between them a Team Captain.
- The District must submit the name of their contestant prior to the contest date.
- The contestants must wear their prescribed District color/uniforms during the contest.

The coverage of the quiz bowl includes:
- Catechesis / Church's Teachings
- Bible
Contest Proper:

The contest shall have three (3) categories:
- Easy
- Average
- Difficult
- There will be ten (10) questions per category.
- Questions shall be read twice. The team must answer the questions within the specific time in a correct spelling. Ten seconds is allotted for each question to be answered unless, specified. The team must write the answer/s on the cardboard/illustration board provided.
- For multiple choice questions, the team must write the letter of the correct answer in the upper right of the cardboard/illustration board (CAPITALIZED).
- The answer/s will be read by the quizmaster while the team is raising the answer.
- Only the TEO contestants may occupy their team's table/s area during the contest proper. BREAKS shall be allowed only after every category.
- Only the team captain can make a complaint or querry or protest. It shall be done before the reading of the next question.
- Questions will be asked to break the tie. It will be randomly picked up from any category.
- The decision of the panel of judges (composed of 3 members) shall be final and irrevocable.
Point System:
Easy - 2 points per question
Average - 3 points per question
Difficult - 5 points per question
- The three (3) teams with the highest accumulated scores will be declared champion, first, and second runner-ups.
- The members of the winning teams shall receive prizes.
- All the participants shall be given a certificate of participation.
