Prayer of the Youth
on the occasion of the CBCP Year of the Youth

Almighty Father, God of life and love,
through time and ages, You love us.
You trust and choose us
to participate in Your saving work.

Bless us, Your young people,
with Your grace.
Give us the gift of living life to the full
by encountering Your Son
in a personal way
and sustaining a relationship with Him,
by learning what life truly is
from His words and works,
from His filial relationship with You,
And by living in true and fruitful
communion with You
and with one another.

Empower us through Your Holy Spirit
to stand firm in the faith.
May we bring our fellow young people
closer to You so that together,
we become agents of change
and builders of a society of justice and
solidarity, love and peace.

Enable all of us:
Your young people,
together with those ministering to us
in the Church, in families and in society,
to make a decisive response
to our universal vocation;
to live fully and fruitfully
by doing everything in love
as we follow Jesus Christ
along the path of genuine trust in You.

In communion with the rest of the Church,
we pray that this CBCP Year of the Youth
become a kairos time
for the youth ministry of Your Church
and a new springtime for us,
Filipino youth: a special period
of growing in Your grace
through our living in youthful holiness
and through our effort to reach out
as a Church to those waiting for Your love.

Together with our Blessed Mother,
our model in giving oneself
entirely to Your will,
we lift this prayer to You
in Jesus Christ, Your Son,
our Friend, Brother and Lord,
in the Power of the Holy Spirit,
now and forever. Amen.

YouthLinks Graduation didto sa Youth Center

Akong namatikdan niadtong miaging Sabado nga pwerting daghanang nagpakasal, ambot kon ngano. Matud pa sa uban, tungod tingali kay petsa baynte-ocho sa Enero, ug adunay numero nga ocho, pabuenas kono!

May gani kay ang eskedyul sa kasal nga gihatag kanako, gitakda sa alas tres pa sa hapon, bisan kon sa buntag ang gipangkasal nagsunod-sunod. Nalipay ako kay taliwala sa daghang gikasal, ang atong YouthLinks Center nagsaulog sa ika-17th batch nga Commencement Exercises.

Tinuod kana! Sa unang higayon, didto sa atong Archdiocesan Youth Center ang gradwesyon gipahigayon. Lipay kaayo ang tanan nga nangandam alang sa maong kalihokan. Ang salamin nga gipapilit sa bongbong, gamit kaayo sa pagtaud sa korbata, kay basin unyag maghibat, labaw pa sa nawong nga murag nanghambat. Tooinnk!

Ang mga babaye usab, buot nalang mopuyo atubangan sa salamin aron kono matiwas nila ang wala matapos nga pagbutang og maskara ... aw make-up diay, kay gipasayo man sila ni Ma'am Tere pag-adto sa sentro. May nalang kono kay air-conditioned ang youth center, ug dili na panington ang ilang nawong nga bag-ong giretoke. Hehe!

Gisugdan ang programa pinaagig pagsaulog sa Santos nga Misa. Didto ang mga duha ka madre, nga sakop sa Franciscan Sisters, nga maoy nag-alagad karon sa espirituwal nga kalihokan sa mga batan-on ug estudyante, sama sa Catechesis, Holy Hour ug Recollection. Nitambong usab si Ma'am Susan Cuyno, ang representative sa TESDA, nga maoy nihatag og mensahe alang sa mga nigradwet niadtong Sabado.

Human gayud og dawat sa iyang TESDA certificate, si Padre Kipling Agravante, nga nikuha og kursong Adobe Photoshop, nagpakatawa sa pag-ingon, "I am now a graduation." Hahaha! Gitapos niya ang maong kurso aron ma-enhanced pa niya pag-ayo ang iyang talento, ilabi na sa iyang gikalingawan karon nga photography, sigon sa iyang mensahe nga gipaambit kanamo.

Ug sama sa naandan, adunay mga estudyante sa matag kurso nga nakadawat og Certificate of Distinction, gumilkan sa ilang kahanas ug sa ilang maayong batasan. Dul-an sa saysyenta kabuok ang nigradwet sa mga kursong Basic Computer Literacy, Computer Hardware Servicing, Adobe Photoshop ug AutoCAD. Congratulations ninyong tanan!

Buot usab akong magpasalamat sa mga COY volunteers nga nitabang; kanila'ng Clair ug Jessa nga maoy emcees, ni Randy nga maoy gitarista ug sound technician, ni Ma'am Arlene Te, Nald, Charlotte, Jay, Ryann, Marjun, Melissa ug ni Teofel ug Joy nga mga maestra. Pasalamat usab ngadto ni Ma'am Tere nga maoy nangulo sa maong kalihokan. Salamat, salamat kaninyong tanan!

Usbon ko ang pagpahibalo nga nagpadayon karon ang enrolment sa mga computer courses ug sa mga bag-ong kursong giablihan, sama sa Bread & Pastry Production, Food & Beverage Services (waitering), Housekeeping, ug Bartending (wine mixing). Pakisayod kamo: Youth Center - 520-5234 / COY office- 253-0173. Gisugdan na ang Screening ug Enrolment kay ang klase buksan sa Pebrero 20, 2012. See yeah!
